BRIEF BIOGRAPHY
Dori Atlantis grew up in both urban Los Angeles and the rural mountains of Central California. She was a founding member of the Feminist Art Program under Judy Chicago at California State University,Fresno. She received both her BFA and MFA from California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California.
Atlantis works in both site-specific installation and mixed-media sculpture. She usually works with natural materials such as branches and adobe. She teaches art to visually-impaired adults at the Braille Institute in Los Angeles.
Atlantis has shown throughout the United States. The recent exhibits include: a site-specific mixed media installation in The Hatchery: East of Fresno, a site-specific installation in Tarfest in the Park, and a commissioned collaborative art installation as part of Flag Stop in Torrance, CA. Dori Atlantis is a member of the Los Angeles Art Association.
